I feel like I am currently a great multi-tasker like so many women out there. I am a married mother of one very very active little boy. While managing the household and learning about being a mother I also learned that I not only love making jewellery but I love handing on the jewellery making bug to other people and watching their eyes when they complete their first piece of jewellery.

I remember vividly my first jewellery making experience, my mothers best friend was just learning to be a party planner with jewellery and needed ‘friendly’ bodies to ‘practice’ on and mum dragged me along to fill the seats. I remember thinking, I do not have a crafty bone in my body, I don’t want to waste my time with this, but it wasn’t expensive and I always love supporting my friends in their endeavours because they always supported me in mine, so why not!!

I went along and was given a simple zip lock bag full of beads and stuff and i looked at the finished example.
(that looked just like the stuff you buy in shops) and thought oh no this is going to be a disaster I cannot possibly achieve that.

But step by step she took me through the process, and bit by bit it came together and a short time later (longer because we didn’t stop chatting and laughing), I finished my pieces (a matching necklace, bracelet and earrings) and was absolutely GOBSMACKED!!!

I MADE THAT!! I couldn’t believe it.Suddenly I could see the possibility of hand making the jewellery that I had so often admired and pined for... From that moment I became an addict.

The most amazing part was that from 14-18years old I worked part-time in jewellery stores,
